Middlewich invites you to follow in the footsteps of the Romans on a special free guided tour. Explore archaeological finds rarely seen in public.

Middlewich Town Council in partnership with Middlewich Library, invite you to follow in the footsteps of the Roman Army on a special guided tour. See some of the Roman finds on display, watch a virtual recreation of the Roman Fort and dig site. Take away with you a new and informative leaflet on the Romans in Middlewich. Explore Middlewich archaeological finds, rarely seen in public, from the many ages of occupation in the area. There will be both displays and handling objects with volunteers on hand to help. Everything is free of charge and the tours will run on the hour starting from 10am, the last will leave at 4pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday. The tour will be at a steady pace, completely accessible and will be 2 hours approx.

Location: Middlewich Library, Lewin Street, Middlewich, CW10 9AS. The Library is situated on Lewin Street (A533 to Sandbach). Junction 18 on the M6, follow the road to Middlewich and turn left at the traffic lights following the sign to Sandbach. Look for a zebra crossing and turn right. From Sandbach follow the road to Middlewich and with the Church in sight look for the zebra crossing and turn left. Car Park at the rear and additional parking on Civic Way car park further up Lewin Street.
