Airfield Location: R.A.F. Cranage was situated on the B5091 between the towns of Knutsford, Middlewich, Northwich and Holmes Chapel [main gate: 53.226950, -2.412786].

Using the latest aerial photograph, shown below, you can see where the airfield lay in relation to the surrounding countryside and the towns beyond.

The gold pin indicates where the main entrance once stood. As you can see from the image, there are two industrial plants now built on the former airfield. The main living quarters (where the longitude & latitude numbers are) have been cleared and there is now a gas processing plant built there. The other plant produces prefabricated concrete sections for the construction industry and they are on the former sports field on the corner of Kings Lane. The rest of the airfield was returned to the farmers almost immediately after the war.
